Daisuke Satou war ein japanischer Mangaka. Er starb im Alter von 52 Jahren in Folge einer Herzerkrankung. Sein unvollendetes Werk Highschool of the Dead, das er in Zusammenarbeit mit Shouji Satou schrieb, pausierte er 2011. Zwei Jahre später erschien ein weiteres Kapitel zum Manga, welcher dann jedoch wieder pausiert wurde.
