Community Summary: Winter Season 2023/24
posted on by ani-chanSweetie treaties in the dungeon, perverse magical girls, the seventh life of a self-confident woman or a feel-good anime with Mr way too perfect himself – this year’s winter season has, once again, brought us new exciting anime with interesting characters and plots. And now that the season is almost over and the last episodes are airing, we’d like to take a look back with you!
At the beginning of the season, you had the opportunity to vote for your most anticipated series of the 2023/24 winter season in a poll.
One anime (rightly so?) received a clear majority of votes: “Solo Leveling”. The A-1 Pictures anime, which is based on a South Korean webtoon, received the most votes of all anime up for election this season with 65 votes – even more than the sequels, which is very unusual. Although not always in the top places, the anime was almost always in the trends this season and was able to convince its fans … and give its haters plenty to hate. But what can we say: Jinwoo is just too cool! After all, he didn’t win a character ID vote for nothing.
Behind them, most anime were pretty much on par. Some anime with 23 to 26 votes that you were looking forward to were: “A Sign of Affection”, which was praised in the episode comments as the feel-good anime par excellence; the ecchi action comedy “Chained Soldier”; “Tales of Wedding Rings”, which even turned out to be uncensored. The magical girl anime of a different kind, “Gushing over Magical Girls”, the fluffy, cute and, above all, fluffy anime “Fluffy Paradise” and the adorable Gals from “Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!” were all worthy of a look, too. All very special anime that are sure to win you over in at least one respect.
The anime “7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!”, impressed with its cool characters. It’s not just our mod conaly who likes Rishe … ;D (I hope he’s not reading this lol)
Among the sequels, you were particularly impressed by the anime with the high school geniuses, “Classroom of the Elite: Season 3”. High school anime are apparently still very popular~
“Mashle: Magic and Muscles - The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc” was also a much-anticipated anime that really delivered, especially in terms of its opening: “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” by Creepy Nuts has not only gone viral on certain social media networks (*cough* TikTok *cough*) but has also, so far, impressed in our poll for the best opening of the winter season (vote now!!).
The third highly anticipated sequel anime is the action adventure “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy - Season 2”, which has kept us waiting for about three years. It was about time …
One anime that wasn’t even represented in the survey but took over our trends was the action drama “Ninja Kamui”. I mean, it has “ninja” in the name, so it must be cool!
But that’s enough with all the numbers and analyses! The more important thing is: What do you think? Was this season better than the last? Did an anime exceed your expectations?
