Die Geschichte handelt vom japanischen Kreuzer Unebi, der während des Zweiten Weltkriegs die Aufgabe hat Handelsschiffe auszuplündern, und dessen Crew mit Ausnahme vom Kapitän nur aus Frauen besteht. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Kommandantin des Kreuzers, die von allen nur »Cookie« genannt wird, und eine fast schon magische Anziehungskraft auf andere Frauen ausübt. Das gilt nicht nur für die Crew der Unebi und die deutschen Verbündeten, sondern sogar für die Feinde.
