Die Geschichte von „Otherside Picnic“ spielt in der modernen Welt, aber es gibt Durchgänge, die Menschen auf die „andere Seite“ führen können, wo sich seltsame urbane Legenden und Internetgeschichten als wahr erweisen.

Die Studentin Sorao Kamikoshi erkundet einen dieser Durchgänge und stirbt fast auf der anderen Seite, als sie von einem anderen Mädchen namens Toriko Nishina gerettet wird. Toriko ist ein mysteriöses Mädchen, aber sehr geschickt im Umgang mit Waffen und sie scheint auf der anderen Seite nach jemandem zu suchen. Gemeinsam erkunden beide Mädchen diese Durchgänge zur anderen Seite.
