Asamis lebhafte und freigeistige Persönlichkeit wurde stark durch die Gal-Subkultur beeinflusst. Sie färbte ihre ursprünglich schwarzen Haare blond, bräunte ihre Haut und integrierte die Gal-Sprache in ihre Alltagssprache. Ganz unbewusst wechselt sie aber manchmal zum Standard-Japanisch, besonders wenn sie ernsthaft spricht oder wütend ist. Später gibt sie zu, dass sie nur anfing ein Gal-Girl zu werden, damit ihre Eltern ihr mehr Beachtung schenken.
Asami ist eine einfühlsame und vernünftige Person. Sie versteht sich gut mit anderen und ist besonders gern mit Sayu unterwegs. Sie ist klug und hat immer gute Noten in der Schule. Außerdem ist sie sehr scharfsinnig und kann leicht Lügen anderer durchschauen.
