Thelma Aoba ist schwerttragende Schülerin im 1. Jahr der Oberstufe an der Tenchi Academy und ein Mitglied der Kurogumi. Ihre Shinyuu ist Rui Akazawa, in die sie wie eine Wahnsinnige verliebt ist. Thelma ist aufgeschlossen und fröhlich, jedoch mit einer völlig verdrehten und abartigen Persönlichkeit.

Als Schwertkämpferin gehört sie zu den gefährlicheren Kurogumi und benutzt ein einzelnes kurzes, dolchartiges Schwert und kombiniert ihre Schwertkampftechnik mit Elementen aus dem Kickboxen. Wobei es allerdings vorkommen kann, dass sie sich während eines Kampfes mehr mit ihrer Shinyuu Rui streitet und sich mit ihr schlägt, als ihre Gegnerinnen zu beachten …

Die Vornamen des Paares, Thelma und Rui, sind ein Verweis auf den Film Thelma & Louise (1991).
