So ergibt sich bald ein komplexes und etwas chaotisches Beziehungsgeflecht von ersten Annäherungsversuchen, mehr oder weniger erfolgreichen Liebesgeständnissen und neuen Erfahrungen, welche für die Betroffenen zu unterschiedlichen Ergebnissen führt. Ein zunächst episodisch aufgebauter, comedylastiger Anime über die Irrungen und Wirrungen der ersten Liebe im Schulalter.

Ayumi, Koyoi, Rika, Kei et Nao sont cinq collégiennes qui se posent les questions de leur âge et une en particulier : qu’est-ce que l’amour ? Un jour, la pauvre Ayumi est mise au pied du mur : Misao Zaitsu, la terreur du lycée du coin, lui fait sa déclaration et ne la quitte plus d’une semelle … Bientôt, les autres filles vont, elles aussi, connaître des situations aussi cocasses que confuses et ainsi découvrir le grand mystère de l’amour.
