Debutante Detective Corps (1996)

“Debutante Detective Corps” is about the five girls Miyuki, Reika, Youko, Nina and Kimiko, who are actually doing well because of their prosperity – if it weren’t for this videotape that contains a threat specifically addressed to them. Actually, the five of them want to go on with their school life, which is why Kimiko in particular is not at all happy about the fact that they will be monitored around the clock from now on.

Not surprisingly, Kimiko incites the others to get one over on the cops so that they can go to school again without being bothered, but despite their success, there is no reason to be happy: even less surprisingly, the five girls are promptly attacked by terrorists – there must have been something to the message. So now they have to help themselves, sometimes with the most bizarre methods …

»High School Detectives« handelt von den fünf Mädchen Miyuki, Reika, Youko, Nina und Kimiko, denen es aufgrund ihres Wohlstands eigentlich gut geht – wäre da nicht dieses Videoband, das eine speziell an sie gerichtete Drohung enthält. Eigentlich wollen die fünf ja weiterhin ihrem Schulalltag nachgehen, weshalb speziell Kimiko gar nicht begeistert ist, dass sie von nun an rund um die Uhr überwacht werden.

Wenig überraschend also, dass Kimiko die anderen dazu anstachelt, den Polizisten eins auszuwischen, um wieder unbehelligt zur Schule gehen zu können, doch trotz Erfolg besteht kein Grund zur Freude: noch weniger überraschend werden die fünf Mädchen prompt von Terroristen überfallen – an der Botschaft war wohl tatsächlich etwas dran. Nun müssen sich also selbst behelfen, und das mit zum Teil skurrilsten Methoden …
