Love Me, Love Me Not (2020)

Yuna Ichihara is a little downhearted when her best friend moves far away during the last holidays before high school and fears she will have difficulty making friends at her new school. Yet, as luck would have it, she has two fateful encounters on the same day: first, she saves Rio, who she immediately thinks is her prince charming, from stepping into a pile-up, and then she meets Akari, who has just moved into Yuna’s flat complex. Because Akari has locked herself out, Yuna helps her contact her parents, and while they both wait in Yuna’s room, they become friends rather quickly.

But when Yuna’s childhood friend Kazuomi drops by, the two quickly get on the subject of boys, and Akari immediately begins to grill Yuna about Kazuomi, but she denies romantic feelings for him and rather believes in fated love at first sight. To her surprise, at the beginning of the new school year, it turns out that Rio is in Yuna’s class and Akari’s brother. But how would Rio react to Yuna’s feelings, and what would Akari and Kazuomi say?

Yuna Ichihara ist etwas niedergeschlagen, als ihre beste Freundin in den letzten Ferien vor der Oberschule weit wegzieht, und befürchtet, nur schwer Freunde an ihrer neuen Schule zu finden. Doch wie es der Zufall so will, hat sie noch am selben Tag zwei schicksalhafte Begegnungen: Erst bewahrt sie Rio, den sie gleich für ihren Traumprinzen hält, davor, in einen Haufen zu treten, dann trifft sie auf Akari, die gerade in Yunas Appartementkomplex gezogen ist. Da sich Akari ausgesperrt hat, hilft Yuna ihr, ihre Eltern zu kontaktieren und während beide in Yunas Zimmer warten, freunden sie sich recht schnell an.

Als Yunas Kindheitsfreund Kazuomi vorbeischaut, kommen die beiden schnell auf das Thema Jungs zu sprechen und Akari beginnt sogleich damit, Yuna über Kazuomi auszuquetschen, doch die verneint romantische Gefühle für jenen und glaubt eher an schicksalhafte Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Zu ihrer Überraschung stellt sich zu Beginn des neuen Schuljahrs heraus, dass Rio in Yunas Stufe geht und noch dazu Akaris Bruder ist. Aber wie würde Rio auf Yunas Gefühle reagieren und was würden Akari und Kazuomi dazu sagen?
