Description
“Nijuuseiki Denki Mokuroku” is set in the summer of 1907 and is about 15-year-old Inako Momokawa, the second daughter of a sake brewer, and her life in Fushimi, one of the eleven districts of Kyoto. Everything the young woman is told to do, she does wrong. This is why she gets scolded by her father every day. Only her prayers give her hope and relief. One day, she meets the boy Kihachi Sakamoto at the local Inari shrine, though he wants nothing to do with the deities, as he only believes in the coming age of electricity.
Without asking his second eldest, Inako’s father decides she must marry. At this point, the girl loses all hope until her newfound friend Kihachi makes her do what she wants. Thus, the two decide to escape together and find a book, the “Electricity Catalogue”, in which Kihachi wrote down a lot of information about electricity as a child. Stupidly, his brother stole his book and is probably wandering around Kyoto or Shiga prefectures. Will the two of them find the book to stop Inako’s engagement …?
