Description

At the time of the Joseon dynasty, Hong Gil-Dong lived as the illegitimate son of a high-ranking state official. But when a travelling shaman foretells that Gil-Dong will bring disaster to the family, he is cast away by his father. When the very same shaman tries to assassinate him shortly afterwards, Gil-Dong realizes that someone within his father’s court wants him dead. He leaves to set off on a journey, trying to help the poor and weak wherever he can.

Zur Zeit des Joseon-Königreichs lebt Hong Gil-Dong als unehelicher Sohn eines hohen Staatsbeamten. Doch als ein Schamane weissagt, Gil-Dong würde Unheil über die Familie bringen, wird er verstoßen. Als kurz darauf derselbe Schamane versucht, ihn umzubringen, wird Gil-Dong klar, dass irgendjemand am Hofe seines Vaters ihn loswerden will. Daher begibt er sich fort auf eine Reise, mit dem Ziel, den Armen und Schwachen zu helfen, wo immer er kann.
